Braden Milk Nipples mimic the calf’s natural slow nursing, which is the healthy way to feed milk. Slow nursing calves produce the proper amount of saliva, which is an excellent buffer and provides strong immune protection. The slow-flow nipple helps ensure milk makes it to the correct stomach, the abomasum, to reduce the chance of milk scours. The yellow nipple is for colostrum and is used for the first few feedings. Calves are then transitioned to the black nipple until weaned. The nipple has internal webbing that prevents the calves from gulping and choking on milk. Slow-nursing also reduces the calf’s desire to cross-suck.

Braden Milk Nipples are ideal for both calf hutches and in group raising applications. Nipples can be purchased with bottles or purchase the nipples separately.
